Hi,
I'm a bit rusty on all of this. Can you point me in the direction of the
archives containing posts explaining how to do this? Or is there a tutorial
that explains how to do it somewhere? Thanks!
Also, is what you're stating even possible given that the IIS SMTP server is
running off a WinXP box that is getting its internet connection on a Verizon
DSL business line? Would I have to be hosting this SMTP server through some
web hosting provider in order to actually do what you're suggesting, or is it
possible to do it the way I'm set up now?
Thanks again for the info and help!

.folder. Upon looking at the email in there, I see the following:

4.1.1.1). I will post the entire contents of this email file below.
Your mailserver needs to pass the PTR-EHLO-A roundtrip described in great
detail in the archives of this list. In brief, you need a PTR for your
public IP, your EHLO (Fully Qualified Host Name in IIS SMTP config) needs
to match the PTR, and there needs to be an A record for the hostname that
points back to the public IP. Any divergence from these requirements will
mean that you can't guarantee outbound mail will be accepted.
