IIS not accepting SMTP

I have a Windows 2005 Server running IIS w/SMTP configured to forward to a
Smart Host. The server has two NICs pointing to LAN A and LAN B. LAN B is
where the Smart Host sends to an Exchange server. The NIC on LAN A resides
on subnet 192.168.1.x and the other computers on that subnet can send SMTP
email to the server w/out any problems which then forwards successfully to
the Exchange server.
My problem is there is a 2nd subnet on LAN A, 192.168.2.x that can't send
SMTP email to the server. I can ping the server fm the 192.168.2.x subnet
and an application running on computers on that subnet can hit a SQL Server
database residing on the server. I try using the app to send SMTP email as
well as "telnet (server IP address) 25" fm a DOS prompt w/out any luck.
On the server's SMTP configuration I have Access - Connection - "All but the
list below" configured w/nothing in the list below and Anonymous Access is
set.
I spoke w/the network guys and they say there's nothing on their side that's
blocking port 25 traffic from getting fm the 192.168.2.x subnet to the
server's subnet.
Any ideas?
thanks!
steve
