IIS6 has a NNTP program built-in you can do something like this. If you are
not partial to Vista, drop Vista and go with W2k3. or WinXP / x64 bit
w/IIS6 although I'm not sure if that version of XP has NNTP. XP 32 bit
doesn't have NNTP built-in.

Vista does not provide an NNTP program like XP and other Windows Server OS's
do. I would search Google or live.com to see if an independent NNTP program
is available. Once the program is installed, it'll listen on port 119 by
default, you would create your newsgroups you can access with OE and other
news readers.

I am sure this is typed somewhere very obvious, but I am no IT genius and I
am having a hard time here. Plus, I just downloaded this newsgroup so I will
be sure to read and browse as I await a faster response to come my direction

I want to know how to, and wish to create a newsgroup using IIS 7 as it
comes with Vista Ultimate. I know I am supposed to have a website hosted
somewhere with NNTP whatever :), and I have all the IIS downloads already
set up on my computer...and all of this is from reading bits and pieces of
what is required.

Simply, I want to create a newsgroups that are accessible in OE and WLM....I
even know how to find the applications on my computer but have no clue as to
the steps to set it all up.

I am sorry that unlike most, I don't know computers, but I am genuinely
interested in doing this on my own with the right resources to help. I will
appreciate step by steps posted in here or relevant links. The ones on MS's
website are very high tech for me to grasp, and am sure there is a dummy
proof one out there.

Thank you very much.
