Re: all mails are stored in Badmail Folder...?

Hi Darin,

In addition to the badmail folder, however, we've encountered many
instances in which messages are sitting in the SMTP queue waiting to
be delivered. On a busy site, a piece of mail can take more than 5
hours to get delivered to smarthost. The smarthost and the SMTP
server are sitting on the same network.

My question is: Is there a utility to determine the status of each
and every mail sitting in the queue so email admins can figure out in
an _instant_ the cause of the queue buildup?

Why would this tool be useful? Given the following scenario, on a
given day with about 3000 queued messages...

If most messages sitting in the queue are of the same subject from
different people, we can safely detect spam messages and DELETE
"those" from _this_ GUI interface thereby reducing the queue
significantly. Without this GUI tool, the SMTP queue is like a
blackhole. Noone knows what is going on.

Back to the question, is there a tool? If not, do you know of any
third party solution?

Thanks,
Ann
