Can you post the output of ftp.exe ?
Generic 426 is tough to troubleshoot.... if you dig out many posts have gone
no way with this.
Here is what I see...
ftp> ls
200 PORT command successful.
150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for file list.
ftp: get :Connection reset by peer
In my recent experience w2k3 x64 ftp in cluster mode, the problem randomly
occurred.
And nothing much from ftp or windows event log part, so we do a sniffing...
all we see is connection error related, but then link is up all the time and
accessible via other protocol, http, rpc, netbios, etc. it just ftp that
dropping random connections from time to time.
I am not running this in a cluster and am not using the x64 version.
However, like in your situation. every other protocol seems to respond fine.
then we end up upgrade all network nic firmware + driver. and disable
chimney option via netsh on that interface and touch wood so far till now it
is not happening again.
We have updated to the latest NIC driver. I am unsure of the NIC firmware,
I will look into that. Also, the chimney option was disabled via the
registry in between one of the times the problem was occuring, and it did not
fix the issue (and yes, it was rebooted afterwards).
take note that ur cases is different where zero ftp connections can be made,
where as my case only few random connections.
It will make the initial connection in some cases (not all), but once you
try to navigate the issue stops the user cold.
sounds like your network go more problems than you think :)
This is not a network issue. This problem also occurs from the machine
itself when it occurs, so the network is ruled out. Also, this problem never
occured until SP2 and the patches listed in the first message were applied.
Also, I was just checking the system a few minutes ago and noticed that the
response time is painfully slow. I anticipate that the issue will happen
again soon. In an attempt to do some troubleshooting, I ran a "netstat -s"
command and found the following. Perhaps it is related to the problem we're
seeing?
Received Address Errors = 1220449
