i installed filezilla, and it seems to be working right out of the box first
time

this continues a previous post with new information

to summarize, at one point ftp was working, and at some point, not sure of
exact date, it stopped
i didn't change my router settings or anything i can think of that would
interfere with ftp
there is no firewall running on the sbs machine that i can find that is
blocking 21

i can only access it locally, right on the sbs machine, any external
access either hangs in ie or gets terminated with ftp.exe, eg:
Connected to myDomain.com.
220-Microsoft FTP Service
Connection closed by remote host.

i ran a ms utility, port reporter, btw, very nice tool

for port 21, listened to by inetinfo and connected to 21 on the connection
attempt

i could see the connection attempt by trying to access ftp from an
external pc and using that same pc on remote connection
to view the port reporter log file in real time
so it seems the ftp traffic is getting thru but somehow the ftp service,
which is running btw, just can't seem to answer and that is
the problem
