Re: FTP Permissions

I'm not sure on this but make sure your folders have the right permissions
at the upper levels.

If your FTP folder is 2 levels down, the account must have at least
permissions in the upper folders to access it.

First of all, are you able to log onto the server using a domain account,
or
are you using a local administrator account? I would also verify that the
AD users have NTFS permissions to where the FTP site points to.

Please excuse the barging in - I have something that I have no
experience
with and would appreciate a seasoned voice.
I have a new Win Server 2003 server set up and running in our domain,
and
we need to use FTP to read / write files to it. I have installed FTP
and
can log in to the FTP just fine by using "anonymous" and any password.
Unfortunately, I cannot log in to the FTP site using a domain user
/password normal account, either through an IE browser or using ftp.exe
at a command prompt. All I get is a "user cannot log in" error. So
anonymous works fine, but not domain accounts. The permissions look to
me
to be the same as on our other Win 2003 AD domain controller server,
which also has FTP and works perfectly. What am I donig wrong?
Thanks for any advise.
Dale
