426 6 - Connection closed; transfer aborted + the handle is invalid
Obviously - ISA is causing this, though I have seen ftp itself sometimes
throw the same exception without ISA.
No clue :( try ISA group.

Follow-up - bypassing OUR firewall (ISA 2K) and the problem does not
occur.
This is confusing as we ftp to/from lots of sites.
