I am sure this question has been discussed here over and over, so please,
forgive me for my low level question here.
I just installed my W2K3 R2 Server with its IIS and with its ftp
components.
I want to have ftp isolated username and password for each of my
webfolders.
The users are not members of my organization. They are webdesigners that I
hire to create my website. I want them to be able to access their assigned
web folder content.
Here is what I am doing. After creating the web site folder, I go to
create a new ftp site for each web folder. When I tried to configure the
ftp
folder direct to the same folder created for the website . I am
getting
an error becuase the website folder has been use for the htlm port.
I am confuse here. It looks like I need to set a different folder for ftp
and another folder for web . Therefore, the client will ftp the content
of
the site, but this content will not be the one site content served by the
web
server.
What is the correct path to accomplish my goals to have ftp accesst to my
website content?
2) The other issue is regarding the Username /Password of the clients ftp
folders. I go to each ftp folder properties to uncheck the Annonymous
access.
Then I go to Permissions hoping this this area is to set usernames and
passwods. But what is open instead is the active directory window to
select a
member of the organization.
How can I set permisions for clients that are nto part of my organization?
I am assuming that Active Directory is used exclusively to register users
members of my organization.
Please, let me know if clarify to me if I am having a straigt IIS issue or
a
Active Directory issue.
