That is what I'm saying/agreeing with. Many end users don't know the
difference between Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer. I'm sure if
I asked all the employees at my company to open Windows Explorer - half
would open Internet Explorer.


I'd rather just say - something like -

This is a secure site, click on View - Open FTP site in Windows Explorer -
they wouldn't have to leave the application and open Windows Explorer -
chances are they wouldn't know they had - and I would have to assume they
had the address bar visable in Windows Explorer.

Mm... if they use IE7, I believe they already got the msgs shown in your
subject, asking them to use Windows Explorer instead.
If normal ftp client, you can configure ftp welcome msgs, etc.

Thanks. Yeah, it makes sense but it is frustrating especially since
the instructions are a little off when my clients hit my site. I guess
I should just ask how to place better instructions for the client to see
if they go to my FTP site.

Nope. this is IE7 issue, it doesn't behave as IE6, hence it is
telling you to use Windows Explorer instead.

We have an IIS site running under windows 2003 server. People who
have "upgraded" to IE7 are now upset that they get "To view this FTP
site in Windows Explorer, click Page, and then click Open FTP Site
in Windows Explorer" when they go to our ftp site. Is there
something we can change in IIS to correct this so we don't piss off
our clients?
