FTP Login Problem

When I try logging into an FTP site (someone else set up the site mind
you) all that happens once I put in my user ID and password is I get the
login prompt back. This happens over and over but I do not get into the
site. I have myself set up as an authorized user of the site, I have the
site set to allow anyone to access - just not anonymous - and the site is
running. So, what am I missing?

Any responses would be great and really appreciated -
Jon
