Re: FTP Troubles - Timing out maybe?

Hello Bernard, thank you for your help.

I am not sure if it does this with Windows Firewall turned off or not.
The server isn't behind a router, so I am nervous about turning off the
Windows Firewall. This doesnt happen when I ftp locally, presumably
because it only takes a few seconds for the upload compared to a few
minutes because it is local.

I am not sure if it is related at all, but in my ICMP settings I have
everything unchecked.

Thanks very much!

Jamie

Hello everyone,
A couple of months ago I posted here about some trouble I am having
with FTP on my Windows 2003 machine. Here is a link to my original
thread:

http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.inetserver.iis.ftp/browse_thread/thread/a8265a71687b5ebe/1473094ae9d05da8?lnk=st&q=IIS6+FTP+%22Jamie%22&rnum=2&hl=en#1473094ae9d05da8

I had left this alone for a while after not solving it, but now it is
becoming a real nuisance as one of my clients has complained that he
will have to find another hosting customer if I can't get this fixed.
(I run a small business with about 12 hosting customers)

I had done everything that Robin Walker suggested, I setup a program
exception in Windows Firewall for inetinfo.exe, but that still didnt
fix my issue. I still can't upload anything over around 9 megs without
trouble. The file uploads ok, but sits at 99% for a few minutes, then
just starts over again from the beginning after about a minute or so.
It has to be something with the connection timing out and not getting a
message from the server that the file has completed, but I don't know
what to do to fix it.

Any help would be very much appreciated! Thank you all.
