Re: Command line ftp freezing after connection

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

The problems occurs even after I stop the Windows Firewall service.
Also, the command line ftp used to work on this laptop (approx. 6
months ago), but now fails.

I'm having a problem using command line ftp on my laptop running
Windows XP Pro, SP2. I can connect and login, but then the system
hangs up after trying any commands. For example, "dir" produces "200
PORT command successful <cr> 150 Opening ASCII mode data
connection...", but hangs after this. Ctrl-c produces a "425 Can't
open data connection" error.

Make sure that C:\WINDOWS\system32\ftp.exe is a program listed on the
Exclusion list of Windows firewall.
