Dear mark
Thanks for your help.
Your mean is 1. create a visual directory named "admin" 2. logon via ftp as
admin ( the system admin account?) But how the ftp server transfer the
"admin" to the d:\root\log\2005 ? when the "admin" logon via ftp, his
'current' working directory was still D:\root, not the D:\root\log\2005 I
tried, and unfortunately that cann't fit the customer's requirment.

Sorry about that. Just on the reverse. If they issue a pwd command, the ftp
server must respond with /log/2005.
And there is 1 more point:
when the user "admin" logon via ftp, the software who using the "admin" to
logon via ftp, will determines the 'current' working directory, which must
be the "\log\2005", that is the working directory must be
"ftp.customer.com/log/2005". He needs the "/log/2005" directory.
