No. I have completely removed McAfee software and am now using Norton Anti
Virus for virus protection and I am using Windows Firewall from the Service
Pack 2. I have gone into the control panel and disabled the firewall and the
FTP software and FTP at the DOS prompt did not work. I then enabled the
firewall making sure that SmartFTP was an exception, but they both (SMartFTP
and FTP at the DOS prompt) still do not work. Is it possible the file deleted
in the beginning by mcAfee was a DLL file that my system needed in order to
recieve back a signal from a remote server?
The messages I get back when trying to connect using SmartFTp is the
following;
Connected to (www.urlname.com) -> Time = 0ms
Socket connected waiting for login sequence.
Connection timeout. No response from server.
I get the following response when I try using FTP commands at the DOS prompt;
Connection closed by remote host.
