Thanks for that, but it leads to more questions.

This server is getting its IP from a router, connected to
a cable modem, which is doing the NAT. Therefore, the
server's IP is actually an internal number. Is that an
issue?

I mean, I don't think I can just do 10.16.1.1:port to get
into it remotely.

Also, where do it fine "dynamic IP redirection services"?
