We have a client that uses HP MPE operating system. They can connect to our
FTP site via explorer and a unix system but cannot via this MPE (which I've
never heard of) They need to connect by this machine when they try and
connect it prompts them for a username then when they hit enter it comes
back with a connection failure message. I believe they said they also got
a error 67 Sock error ??
We are using WS_FTP with an ISA server sat in front of it. They are getting
through the firewall as their attempt is showing on the logs on the FTP
server, it shows them coming in on port 21 but then it just says 'connection
reset Connection Closed' They siad they are using a passive connection
because of this I have opened port 1024 on the ISA and told WS_FTP program
to use port 1024 for PASV commands.
I'm not even sure whether the passive mode route is the reason why this is
not working, its a case of trying anything ...!
I have used a free FTP program and created a server and connected using
passive mode and it worked but that was before I had opened port 1024 on the
ISA so I'm confused how this worked if according to things I have read you
need to open ports on your firewall to allow passive mode.
As I said it works through a command prompt and explorer but through this
MPE s/w it does not..any ideas??
