IIS Server Application Error

Hi i am running win xp pro on my machine, i installed iis.
when i am trying to check http:///localhost/, i am recieving this
error.
"Server Application Error
The server has encountered an error while loading an application
during the processing of your request. Please refer to the event log
for more detail information. Please contact the server administrator
for assistance."
i checked the event viewer its giving me this warning message
"The server failed to load application '/LM/W3SVC/1/ROOT'. The error
was 'No such interface supported"
i have tried so many things on web(checked the passwords for IUser,
IWam using a utility) , tried re creating iis packages,nothing seems
to work.
It seems always when i want to work with iis , 2 days go just for
installation.
please, Any help would be really appreciated.
