Have you tested a simple scenario?

    Chris.

I've just been trying to explain to my client how, despite the fact
that I used the BCC property of the Newmail CDONTS object to specify
the recipients, everyone received an email clearly showing a (partial)
list of their fellow recipients! Normally that might just be
annoying but in this case, the names were rather sensitive and so
    everyone is naturally quite U P S E T !

The problem is that I don't have an explanation but I was hoping
someone out there may be aple to provide one, along with some tips on
how to avoid it happening again.

The email that was received looked like this (I have changed the
    names, of course):-

    From: me@myplace.com
    [mailto:me@myplace.com]
    Sent: 24 September 2004 15:04
    Subject:

    joesmith@aol.com
    X-Receiver: tomsmith@btconnect.com
    X-Receiver: billjones@compuserve.com
    X-Receiver: bobjones@aol.com
    ...(a further 55 entries here)
    X-Receiver: bobsmith@aob.com
    X-Receiver: joejones@aoc.com

... followed by the body of the email

As I said, all of the entries were assigned to the BCC property as a
    comma delimited string
    ("tomsmith@btconnect.com,billjones@compuserve.com,.." etc) and the to
and from properties were set to the same value (me@myplace.com).

Other incidental information that might be of use is that the
BodyFormat and MailFormat properties were both set to 0 to indicate
    that the body contained HTML.

Something else that doesn't make sense is that the BCC list contained
1786 entries in all and only the last 61 appeared in the X-Receiver
list. This made me suspect a syntax problem in the list (a missing
comma or something) but I have been unable to reproduce this. Is
there a maximum list length for BCC? Whatever the cause of the
problem, I was really shocked to see BCC entries made visible for all
to see (as of course were they).

Can anyone shed any light on this? I also need to find a way to
guarantee that it never happens again (or find myself a new client).
