I'm writing a spider in VB, it has been working successfully for some
time, but since iFrames became popular I can't access data in the
iFRAME.
See KB article KB196340 "How to get the WebBrowser object model of an
HTML frame". This technique bypasses cross-domain security restrictions.
Before you ask, I don't know how or whether this can be implemented in
VB.

With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine. However, this is not
necessarily a good idea. It is hard to be sure where they are going to
land, and it could be dangerous sitting under them as they fly
overhead. -- RFC 1925
