For some reason, I need to keep a IHTMLElement pointer taken from
current location page in my class and use it next time.

What triggers the "next time"? What do you expect to happen between now
and then? What exactly are you trying to achieve?

With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine. However, this is not
necessarily a good idea. It is hard to be sure where they are going to
land, and it could be dangerous sitting under them as they fly
overhead. -- RFC 1925
