CHTMLView and Windows 98

I'm writing an application in which I want to use CHTMLView. According
to MSDN's website CHTMLView is not available on Windows 98....
"The WebBrowser ActiveX control (and therefore CHtmlView) is available
only to programs running under Windows NT versions 4.0 or later, in
which Internet Explorer 4.0 or later has been installed."
However, after looking around Internet and a few newgroups, it seems as
though some people are able to use CHTMLView on a Windows 98 machine as
long as the IE requirements are met.
Can anyone offer any insight into CHTMLView and whether or not it can
be used with Windows 98 (and even 98FE)? Is Microsoft's website wrong
about their own control?
Sadly, I don't have a 98 box handy, so I'm not able to test it out for
myself. Any help on this would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
Addy
