Re: How to configure workstations so that *ALL* internet traffic goes via ISA Server 2004?

First - your internal nic card for the isa server should have a fixed ip
address. If you are going to use securnat clients then they need a gateway
that provides a route to the internal nic card of the isa server. If you use
the web proxy client, the firewall client, or both then the default gateway
is not required (but of course may be needed for other reasons).

Hi,
I just put ISA Server 2004 Standard in play here in my network.
Currently my network is the same config as Alan has. What I want to do,
although I dont know if it will work, is since I have 2 NIC Cards in my
ISA Server, I want to connect one NIC card directly to my cablemodem
that gives me my connection. With the Second NIC i want to connect it
to a LAN port on one of the routers, then through my DHCP server tell
the client computers to look at my ISA Server for internet. What I am
wondering, is what IP address do I give to the client machines for the
default gateway? The IP assigned by internal DHCP for the NIC connected
to my router, or the IP address for the NIC connected to my ISP
cablemodem? I figure that I would give them an internal IP address on
the ISA Servers LAN NIC, then they connect to it, it then forwards them
over to the internet connection, and they get internet. Will this work?
By the way, I do have 3 routers here, servers are on the upper floor of
my home, as are 2 routers. one is a flat-out Ethernet router, the other
2 are both Wireless-G.
