Re: ISA authentication causing client to hang at user login

it is on the local subnet and we do not use ISA to route to it even for the
remote subnets. Some clients have this isssue and other do not.
I am looking at LMHost files now for a possible corrupt version on some
clients.

Is the domain controller on their local subnet?

If not, do you use ISA as the router to get to the domain controller?

Looked thru the logs and didn't find anthing obvious. users didn't log any
errors at the time known to have login issues. users that couldn't get on
the
network had no entries at the time of the issues and always showed only
the
IP address and anonymous for a user name in the logs.

FYI when I say they couldn't login I mean the client would "lockup" with
an
"Applying user settings" dialog box on the screen.

What do you find in the ISA logs when this occurs?

I am running a single forest domain with one controler and using ISA 2004
for
web access control. MS firewall client is installed on all clients and
when I
don't ask for authentication everything works fine. turn on
Authentication
under the web proxy / authenticaton tab for the internal network and some
users can not logon to the network. disable the authentication and users
can
login almost instantly.

This is clearly in the rules of ISA but I can't find out where - cav
anybody
help?
