Hi Colin
I too am struggling to register this add on - grrrr.
SBS2000 PE ISA 2000 with SMSME 4.6
My error message is slightly different....
C:\Program Files\Symantec\SMSMSE\5.0\Server>Register.exe -c "C:\program
files\symantec\smsmse\4.6\server\spamprevention\bmiconfig.xml" -l
FileName.slf -p ServerName:8080 -a AdminAcct:Password -v

failed creating formpost data (what ever that means...? lol)
Symantec Gold support keep advising us to verify port 443 is open for both
inbound and outbound traffic - YES!
(Not that they tell you how it should be done!)
That we can resolve aztec.brightmail.com - YES!
That's about the limit of their help - (cough.)
Mr Google's been more helpful but it looks like we need to decipher the ISA
logs - Ugh. Currently wading my way through notes on how to interpret the
data...
Your error message sounds like you might want to check Outgoing Web
Requests...?
In ISA Management, right click your server, then click properties.
Click on Outgoing Web Requests and take the tick off - "Ask unauthenticated
users for identification"
Might help...?
Anyone, hope someone cracks this one.
All the best

Hello Everyone,.
I'm unable to Register Symantec Antispam
Premium Edition so it can be activated on my exchange server.
I have spent at least 5 hours on the phone with Symantec and we have tried
every tech article & Tech support persons suggestions they have available on
this problem also
I have opened ports in ISA, Setting Proxycfg to a direct connection and so
on, they are stumped as am I.
Below is the Proxy configuration settings and below that is the cmd prompt
executible syntax that Symantec says is supposed to work, but all I get is:
Proxy requires authorization!
I have sent a screen shot of this to Symantec and they have said it is typed
in correctly as per the instructions and that it should work.
I have tried several admin Accts & passwords without success, I still get
the same message: Proxy requires authorization!
I have changed the license file, servername, admin acct and password here
for security reasons.
I'm using 2003 SBS P.E. with ISA 2000 no Service packs installed yet.
I don't know if ISA is blocking it or what is going on.
If you need more info let me know.
Any quick and easy Step by Step instructions on how I could solve this
problem would be greatly appreciated.
I'm not totally up to speed in this area so please bear with me and keep
things simple.
Thanks in advance for any help!!!!!
Collin
