Hi,
I am posting this message in the hope that somebody will be able to assist
me, with publishing an internal FTP server via ISA 2000.
Our ISA server has three NICs installed: one connected to the Internet, one
connected to a hardware VPN box provding network access for the MD and one
connected to the internal network with the FTP server on.
I have installed a new FTP server on our internal network and I need to
publish this server, so that trusted external users can upload and download
files to this server. The ISA server I inherient from the previous
administrator so that is no documentation. Upon reviewing the ISA
configuration, I saw that we were already publishing a FTP server which was
enabled on the ISA server itself. I asked around and found that the FTP
server which was enabled on the FTP server was not in use, so I deleted the
FTP publishing rule. I then created a new FTP publising rule which points
to the internal FTP (additional IP address added to the FTP server's NIC).
Following this action, I opened Internet Explorer and typed the following in
the 'Address' bar:
I then get the following error message:
Windows cannot access this folder. Make sure that you typed the file name
correctly and that you have permission to access this folder.
Details:
The connection with the server was reset.
I have verified that I can access the FTP server internally using it's
internal IP address, but when I use the external IP address I get the above
error message.
At the present time, I have been unable to restart the ISA services but I am
planning to do this on Wednesday evening. Will this fix my issue? If you
are able to assist me with this issue, I would really appreciate it.
Many thanks,
Neil
