Hi Phillip;
Yes, they are all on the same segment (the IP addresses in use are
192.168.1.*)
The internal network definition is identical (192.168.1.0 => 192.168.1.255)
and my domains are properly listed as well as the check boxes for bypassing
the Proxy for web servers and directly accessing the computers on the domain
tab
etc.
So it looks like it's all configured properly. It's not that important - if
it bugs
me again next month when the automated report is generated I'll invest more
time
into it :-) Also, I'll consider Jens solution as it sounds promising.
Thanks everyone!
Dave

When I look at the monthly report on the ISA machine it shows that
ofgigs went through it from the tape backup machine. (Bytes In 276.72 gigs
and
Bytes Out at 1.92 gigs).
That is not very much. I could do 2-3 times that much on a single backup
a single server by running the backup just once (let alone a whole month).the
It could easily just be the backups for the ISA machine itself.
What I do know is that I had to make rules on the ISA server allowing
wouldports the backup clients use in order for tape backups to work. This
aindicate to me that every machine is going through the ISA Server during
defaultbackup.
Mt thoughts were that because each of the servers uses ISA as it's
Microsoft, gateway that this would be the case?
No, it should not be the case. That machines are all on the same IP
Segment,..therefore the Default Gateway is not used. They are all on the
same IP Segment arent't they?
The Internal Network Definition is where the problem probably is.
