Help! *nix machines cannot connect to internal web sites, windows boxes fine.

I'm running a ISA 2004 box, and I've been seeing strange behaviour, and so
far have not been able to track anything down.
Windows boxes, on the internet, can connect fine to server web sites
(including OWA, OMA etc.all running on IIS on Win2k3) - everthing works just
like it's meant to. However none of the web sites will work from a browser
in linux or on a mac. Initially I thought this was just a user issue, but
I've been working all day to try and resolve this from my home box. I have
IE7 on the desktop, and a virtual machine that I have tried serveral
diffrent distos of linux on. All of them fail *most* of the time. Very
occasionally, say one time in 100 attempts, the browser will start to load
the correct page, get about half way through then grind to a halt.
The ISA logs show the client initiating a connection, then a while later the
connection is closed by a 3 way agreement. Then I get a load of non-SYN
failures. On the odd occasion that it does work, I get a number of allowed
connections, then it returns to the above.
I really can't get my head round why it appears to work perfectly in
Windows, but not on other platforms.
I would really appriciate some ideas of where to look, or what to log to try
to solve this.
Thanks,
Box
