Where is the telnet client; internal or external to ISA?
What do you find in the ISA logs for these attempts?

Hello,
I am attempting to enable a telnet to the published SMTP server, which is
behind an ISA04 firewall.
We are doing some troubleshooting of connectivity to the SMTP exchange
Server located behind an ISA04 firewall, and cannot seem to enable Telnet
from the internet to the Exchange SMTP server over port 25.
The exchange server accepts email from the internet, such as gmail or
another exchange server. And the Exchange Server sends outboud email to the
internet. But a simple Telnet on port 25 from the internet fails to the
exchange server. Internally a telnet to the Exchange SMTP server n port 25
directly suceeds.
We attempt to telnet to the Public IP of the Public MX IP and fail. There
is a rule on the ISA for both SMTP Server and SMTP Client access.
Any suggestions on how to succeed at Telnet on port 25 to the Exchange
Server behind the ISA firewall ?
Thanks
-Tom
