My suggestion is to install SP2 before adding to the domain. I think there are some problems with SP2.

Running Widows 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition and ISA Server 2006 Standard
Edition on a Dell PowerEdge 2950 server.
Server is a member server of our domain.
Prior to installation of Service Pack 2 all was working OK.
After installation of SP2 we are experiencing communication problems between
our ISA server and our domain controllers.
Problems Reported on ISA Server:
Event Log Error - Userenv (Event Id 1053)
Windows cannot determine the user or computer name. (The RPC server is
unavailable) Group Policy processing aborted.
NETDIAG tests reports the following problems:
DC List Test : Failed
[WARNING] Cannot call DsBind to ourdomaincontroller [RPC_S_SERVER_UNAVAILABLE]
LDAP Test : [WARNING] Failed to query SPN registration on DC
ourdomaincontroller.
If I stop the ISA - Microsoft Firewall service, communication with our
domain controllers works OK again.
If I uninstall Service Pack 2 all works OK again. I do not make any changed
to the ISA Server Access Rules.
Can anyone please help or has anyone else experienced this sort of problem
