Re: Help with ISA 2000 / Load balancing router requested - Thanks.

Ken,

Thanks for the reply. The bit I am stuck on is how to use two different
proxy servers with different proxy port numbers.

I need to make sure I use the correct proxy and port for the WAN connection
that is being utilised.

Any Ideas? We have ISA 2000 and I also have a copy of ISA 2004 on hand if
needed (purchased but not deployed yet).

I am willing to look at ISA 2006 as well

Thanks,

Andy

Hello Andy,

Thank you for using newsgroup!

From your post, the NLB device has only two WAN ports and you have three
internet connections in your scenario. If you want to enable network load
balance on the three connections (2 x 2MB ADSL+10MB), you may place the
NLB
device backward to Cisco 1721 and Cisco catalyst switch. Cisco 1721 and
Cisco catalyst switch can connect to the two WAN ports on the NLB device
separately. ISA server and all internal switch or clients can connect to
the any one port of the 4 LAN ports on the NLB device. And then you may
configure the Pheenet BIGL2/4 load balancing router.

For more information about how to configure the load balance router, you
may contact the device manufacturer as below:
http://www.pheenet.com/index.php

Hope that helps!

Thanks & Regards,

Ken Zhao

| Hi,
|
| I work in a UK secondary school. We have 2 x 2MB ADSL lines bonded with
a
| Cisco 1721 router (connection #1). In addition we have recently had a
10MB
| connection installed (terminates on a Cisco catalyst switch) (connection
| #2).
|
| Connection #1 terminates on a Server 2003 box running ISA sever 2000.
This
| server has two NIC's one with a public IP connecting to the Cisco 1721
| router (connection #1) and the other nic connects to our LAN clients
which
| use 192.168.x.y addresses.
|
| Connection #2 terminates on a Cisco Catalyst switch as present. We have
only
| 10.1.x.y ip's available to us.
|
| We must use a proxy server for both connections (to provide filtering
| suitable for a school). Each ISP has a differnt IP and port number for
their
| proxy server.
|
| I purchased a cheap Pheenet BIGL2/4 load balancing router. It has two
WAN
| ports and 4 LAN ports but I am unsure how to configure it to support our
| requirements.
|
| Can anyone offer any advice?
|
| Thanks,
|
| Andy.
