See article below and then specify how your dns configuration is set up.

youll have to bare with my slow reply, and lack of knowlege on this
subject... youre going to have to spell things out that are pretty
obvious..
i dont know what you mean by how do we handle dns...
ill try to answer some basics anyway... We have a several servers...a
domain controller, a isa server, and a Mail server among others.
also.. just in case this helps.. the servers do not have this issue.. the
internet on the servers runs lightning fast, as it should.. only the
client
computers seem to be effected... and again, if the firewall is disabled...
everythign flys
as far as the logging goes, its set to msde database logs... logging to
the
default isa folder, except on smtp, weve got it on w3c extended file
format
thanks for your help.. hopefully someone will reply again...

They both worked for me.
How do you handle DNS for the LAN and Internet?
I'm not saying it has anything to do with those links,...I'm just looking
for a place to start with the overall problem.
Also, how is the logging configured for the ISA? (text files, SQL, etc)

tried both links - We're sorry, but there is no Microsoft.com Web page
that
matches your entry. It is possible you typed the address incorrectly,
or
the
page may no longer exist. You may wish to try another entry or choose
from
the links below, which we hope will help you find what you're looking
for.

For starters, you may want to see the document on firewall policy best
practices at
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/isa/2004/plan/firewall_policy.mspx.
The type and order of your rules can have an impact on performance.
You should also review the performance best practices at

our business is using ISA server 2004 enterprise edition with sp2.
we have a t1 line and we have noticed a dramatic decrease in its
performance
Since we upgraded to ISA 2004.(for example browsing the internet
with
the
firewall on, and the cache off, our t1 performes like a 56.6 modem
at
best).
When we go around the firewall, or disable it, the connection speed
is
very
quick again. We dont know why our speed is so decreased when the
firewall
is
active. The only fix we have used is to use the cache, which of
course
appears to fix this issue, but does not really get to the heart of
the
problem.
does Anyone have any configuration suggestions, or any ideas as to
why
we
may be losing speed. I cant imagine that the firewall would slow our
connection this much if it is configured correctly
Thanks
.
