array.dll configuration script not downloading

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Up until recently we've happily run configured users to use connect to
our ISA 2000 array via the configuration script
http://proxy:8080/array.dll/yadayada.... with no problems.

This configuration stopped working last week with no apparent changes
being made (or none that anyone here is owning up to).

I can download the script from the browser manually, save it, rename it
and use it as a .pac file. So the .dll is working correctly and the
configuration can be downloaded for viewing. But when the .dll itself
is in the "Use Automatic Configuration Script" field any requests will
result in a I'm guessing that the file isn't being downloaded
successfully for use by the clients. Are there posible permissions or a
reason why the browser isn't requesting the configuration?? I'm
stretched for answers so any tips would be handy.
