Hi,

This is a quick question to clarify the difference between a ISA
server\firewall and a proxy server?

ISA is a Stateful Packet Filter, Application Layer Firewall and Proxy Server

I know that a firewall opens\closes specified ports to\from a network and a
proxy server is a form of security for internet access to\from network but
not much more?

a Proxy is more than a method to access the Internet. A Proxy can control any Network Traffic if there are applicable Application / Webfilter.
