Re: WPAD URGENT

if i want to control access who is allowed to see internet and who is not
allowed, i have to let the user be Web Proxy Cllient, Not Firewall Client .
"

No - you can use either or both. Just create access rules that define who is
allowed access and do not use the "All Users" group which means anonymous is
allowed.

is that correct, or , if i want to control access, i have to create Access
Rule, and this Access rule, will be implement only on Firewall Client, not
Web Proxy Client, ?

Thanks for your Answer,
howevery, i have something in My mind to clear the cofuse which is :-

1- you said " if i need simple browsing for Http & Https & want to control
access who is allowed to see internet and who is not allowed, i have to
let
the user be Web Proxy Cllient, Not Firewall Client . "

Now, my question is , as long as i understand Using Firewall Client, will
give me the ability to use Client Authentication and i can define rules
based
on Users Based.

Also, by using Firewall client , i will be able to see in the log file, in
ISA, who access or not , because if you have many web proxy client, you
will
see alot of seesion opend in ISA but you cant know, who access the
internet.
so if you want to know who access it, you have to let the users be
Firewall
client, is that correct.

Actually , i get confused and i want you to clear something.

i have here one users, configured as Web Proxy Client, if i open the ISA
LOG, you will find that ( ISA Session ), the Web Proxy Client, is appear
with
its IP-address only , and with anonymous . but its not display any thing
about the Users At all.

while, the Firewall Client, is Display the User Name, User PC, IP Address.

So, really i get confused, regarding :-

if i want to control access who is allowed to see internet and who is not
allowed, i have to let the user be Web Proxy Cllient, Not Firewall Client
. "

is that correct, or , if i want to control access, i have to create Access
Rule, and this Access rule, will be implement only on Firewall Client, not
Web Proxy Client, ?

Please, confirm with me .

This depends on your requirements. If you need simple browsing (http,
https,
ftp) and want to control who is allowed access then the web proxy client
would be a good choice. If you have the same requirements for complex
protocols then you will want to use the fwc. If access control is not an
issue then you could use a combination of the web proxy and securnat
client.
Define your requirements and then choose the best combination.

CAN I MAKE ANY CONFIGURATION TO DOWNLOAD TO THE USER DIRECTLY AND PUT FOR
HIM SPECIAL CONFIGURATION ? Various rules can be configured and applied
to
users and or groups within the isa firewall. What exactly are you
thinking
of?

DEAR ALL,

AS WE KNOW THAT, THE WPAD CAN BE USED TO ALLOW THE WEB BROWSER AND THE
FIREWALL CLIENT APPLICATION TO AUTOMATICALLY DISCOVER THE ADDRESS OF
ISA
SERVER 2004 FIREWALL.

THE CLIENT CAN DOWNLOAD THE AUTOCONFIGURATION INFORMATION FROM THE
FIREWALL
AFTER THE WEB PROXY OR FIREWALL CLIENT DISCOVER THE ADDRESS.

BUT I HAVE A QUESTIONS:-

Q1:-
IS IT ESEENTIAL TO THE CLIENT TO BE WEB BROXY OR FIREWALL CLIENT ?
2- CAN I MAKE ANY CONFIGURATION TO DOWNLOAD TO THE USER DIRECTLY AND
PUT
FOR
HIM SPECIAL CONFIGURATION ?
