Just solved the problem and the solution makes little sense to me. Perhaps
someone can shed some light.
I have a SOHO router that handles the DSL connection to our ISP. The path
to the internet is essentially client to ISA to SOHO Router to ISP and
beyond. Nothing is wrong with the SOHO router but because it is already
performing NAT, I set the Internet Access rule in ISA to Route from NAT.
When I set this back to NAT, everything started working again. Is this a
BUG?
Thanks.

I'm having trouble accessing POP3 and SMTP from a client behind ISA 2004.it
Here are some details:
1. The ISA Server has an allow rule for outbound access to SMTP and POP3
protocols.
2. The client has Outlook 2003 with the Internet mail service.
3. I have modified the Firewall Client configuration for Outlook and set
to Disabled = 0. I still have the problem.
4. The monitoring page shows the connection attempt and there is nothing
that appears to be denying the connection. Eventually, the connection
attempt times out without a connection.
Any ideas or further info I can provide to assist in solving the problem?
Kevin
