NEW Isa2004 installed and im trying to get SMTP outbound to work using
secureNAT. I have configured a basic rule for outbound smtp from the
Exchange server to the SMTP Relay. If I telnet port 25 from the Exchange box
to the relay it works fine. However, if I try and send an email that is
routed through ISA using SMTP I get the following error back from the
EXCHANGE server.
#5.5.0 smtp;550 Requested action not taken - Sender not allowed
I have proved the rule is working and its allowing outbound traffic from the
exchange server to the relay (using telnet). The access rule is set to All
Users and Internal/External. The Exchange accounts are running under local
system accounts (Exchange 2000).
The old ISA 2000 works fine with this setup, its just the new one doesnt. I
dont have any other rules that apply to SMTP, just the one...
I even compared it to the following article and its 100% accurate.
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/isa/2004/plan/exchage2003.mspx
It obviously cant be a permission issue as secureNAT doesnt allow for
authentication. I also tried with the SMTP disabled and still no joy.
thoughts?
