I am attempting to set up a vpn between my home computer and a
friends. I followed all directions and got connected. the problem is I
don't see the desk top or files. My friend gave me administrator
rights on his machine. What went wrong? Using xp home edition.

Most common is that you are both using the same 192.168.x.x address range.
