I have 5 web sites in house and made changes so they go thru the ISA 2004
server okay.
Somewhere along the line I messed up VPN. When I try (from an internal PC
that DID work at one time) to VPN into any of my 6 IPs on the external NIC
(that was a neat trick too!) those with the web sites and one that should
take me thru to my Win2K3 server (SP2) it hangs at verifying username and
password for a long time and then gives error 721.
The Username and Password are valid in my Act/Dir, I use them all day long.
I have tried opening everything on the ISA and the result never changes.
It looks like problem in negotiation of IPsec authentication mechanism.
Make sure, that both VPN clients and ISA configured to use pre-shared
key or digital certificates (and disable all other methods and protocols
at each client connection).
