Re: Connection error 628

You can refer to

troubleshoot if the ports are listening on the RRAS server.

I have a client who runs SBS 2000 at one office and access' that server
remotely from another office by way of VPN connection. Out of nowhere they
are not able to connect. Upon attempting to establish the connection the
included WIndows XP VPN client ap just hangs at "verifying username and
password and will eventually produce error 628, which from my research is
commonly an indication that the network device answering the call is fauly.
Succesfull VPN connections have been made on other computers using
different and the same username and password. For that matter no ones user
account can succesfully establish a VPN connection from that particular
computer.

I think it's a port issue, I don't know. I've shutdown all firewalls and
completed a spyware scan with ad-aware.

Anyone have any clue?

Any help would be grand.

Jason
