Are you able to get a lease from the DHCP server now? Weird that you were
able to connect to a machine temporarily. Do you mean just a ping or that
you could actually see the resources?
I have some experience with using ISA VPN in the past without problems, as I
said. I also have used just the built-in Windows RRAS VPN without problems,
including the server that is now the ISA 2004 server.
I think you will eventually be able to get it working. Hopefully someone
with more knowledge than us will post here.
I have never used a hardware VPN, but I've been tempted. You can get a
Linksys or Netgear VPN Router for between $70 and $150, or something like
that. The $150 one supports a pretty good number of connections I believe.
My concern over these was whether you can use them for a point-to-point
tunnel. I saw something recently that seemed to suggest that you can. I
also have to wonder how well it connects the offices involved and not just
the routers themselves.
