    Thanks for your response. I was able to remote into my computer last night.
    When I ran ipconfig, the subnet mask was 255.255.255.255 and the default
    gateway was same as the dynamic IP I was assigned.
    If I understand you correctly, you're saying these settings are correct.
    Obviously my connection problem was caused by something else. Where can I
    educate myself about these settings as I don't understand why I get these
    settings. I thought once I VPN into the network, I'd get all of my settings
    from the DHCP server.
