I'm reposting this query in the hope that someone might have the fix.
XP VPN client behind ISA server. VPN to SBS 2003. Problem: the connection
works, I can also use remote desktop, but after a minute or two it
disconnects for no apparent reason.
If I bypass ISA (plug direct into a spare port on the ADSL router) the VPN
connection works and is stable (same client, same destination). So this
appears to be an ISA issue.
For avoidance of repetition:
I am not using ICS.
The problem is not limited to one particular VPN server. There are two SBS
systems I VPN into, and I get the same problem with both.
ISA Server 2000 in all cases.
The connection is not made from the ISA server itself, but from a computer
on the network protected by ISA.
The basic settings must be correct, in that the VPN is successfully
established and works (until the connection drops).
Network Diagnostics does not show any errors.
Any idea what needs tweaking?
Tim
