Re: Multiple authentication prompts on published server with path mapping after 2000 -> 2004 upgrade

For the heck of it, I tried turning on Basic Authentication Delegation and
it seems to have made it much worse. It now seems to prompt for credentials
on each page element, not just each path.

We upgraded an ISA 2000 SP2 server running on Server 2000 SP4 to ISA 2004
SP2 + post-SP2 hotfix running on Server 2003 SP1 on Friday evening. The
only issue we're seeing is with the one web server we publish.
The server is SSL access only from the outside and uses Basic
authentication over SSL. There are about fifteen paths that are allowed on
the web server.
When this server was published by ISA 2000, there was only the initial
prompt for domain credentials and then you were free to browse the entire
site.
After the ISA 2004 upgrade, it appears we're receiving a domain credential
prompt each time we access a different path. Just hitting the home page
requires four credential inputs. As you move around the site, you get
re-prompted a whole lot. If you skip a prompt, part of the page is missing
(graphics are in a subfolder).
The published server is an AS400 and requires absolutely no credentials to
get to any part of the site (it's an intranet server).
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ray
