Use a publishing rule.
- The application filters deal with traffic according to traffic direction as well as protocol / port. Server Publishing uses
"Inbound" definitions, while Access Rules use "Outbound" definitions. These are important distinctions to ISA.
- Make sure your DNS server is only bound to an internal ISA IP; this way, there won't be any protocol / port conflicts.

Publishing and access rule to local host. Can someone from MS comment on this. Is the access rule to local host just as good as server publishing? Or is it not recommended? Are there any differences in the way ISA 2004 handles that traffic? - Nóri "Kenny Wu" <kenny.penghu@msa.hinet.net.NO-SPAM> wrote in message news:#tATnzYcEHA.3664@TK2MSFTNGP12.phx.gbl: > Hi, > > Just Server publish rule to publish DNS in ISA. > You can see below > http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;837833 > >
