I didn't send you to a patch, I sent you to several articles that address
this error state.
You didn't provide any details, so I can't provide targeted assistance.
...things like "when we hit www.thisplace.com, we get this error".
The date of the cache file is not related to the error you reported.

Jim,
Thanks for the response. Regarding the 502 error, prior to working with MS,
the UNIX server was able to get to the content server and download content
so
I'm not sure if this patch will fix this issue (based on the fact that it
was
working prior). Your thoughts?

I was working with MS tech support a few weeks back on a Web proxy
problem.
We got that fixed but it looks like we might have created another problem.
On the date we fixed one problem, I've noticed that the date of the
dir1.cdat
file in the urlcache directory has not updated. Can Web Proxy and caching
be
tied together in some way? I've noticed on our internal network, enable
web
proxy is enabled. On the localhost network it is not. Should it be
enabled
on the localhost as well?
This also ties into a 502 error we started to get on the same day. We
have
a UNIX server that goes out and pulls content from one of our vendors.
Since
that day, it has been unable to get to the site to pull content. We keep
getting the following error msg: Error Code: 502 Proxy Error. The request
is
not supported. (50)
