Books by Tom Shinder.

They can also be purchased in most book stores.
I recommend the ISA2004 book with the new ISA2006 book to supplement it. The
ISA2006 book is not comprehensive and is meant to only bring you up to speed
with the differences/improvements from 2004 to 2006,...so you need the 2004
book to get the foundation.

Sound good. I'll proceed to join AD domain and install ISA2006 today.
Btw, back in the MS Proxy 2.0 days, I got myself the following text book:
ISBN 0-13-011248-8
Implementing and Supporting Microsoft Proxy Server 2.0
Kostya Ryvkin
Dave Houde
Tim Hoffman
I like it because it's very easy to understand. Can you recommend a good
ISA2006 text book?
Thanks.

Register this connection's addresses in DNS (UNchecked) - is this
necessary? If there is no DNS on the external NIC, there's nothing to
register.
DNS tends to be global for the machine regaurdless of the Nic's specs it
is added into. I don't remember if leaving the DNS blank keeps that nic
from registering,..but just do the standard way of configuring as I
described and you won't have to worry about it.
Which setting should I use on either NIC?
- Disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP (or enable?)
- Client for for Microsoft Network (unchecked or checked)
- File and print sharing for Microsoft Network (unchecked or checked)
External:
Enable TCP/IP
Disable all others
Internal:
Enable all.
You might get by with only TCP/IP and C4MS Networks, but I'd just leave
them all enabled and not ask for problems.
