Re: Smart Host configuration

Phillip,
Thanks for your suggestion. I infact did setup the rule as you suggested.
However using the default settings continued to give me time out errors. I
checked another forum and found that in the TO: tab the Requests appear to
come from the ISA Server computer must be checked also. Previously I had the
Requests appear to come from the original client checked giving me the time
out. Once I changed that out the mail came through fine.

Thanks again for participating in our multitude of questions.

Thanks Phillip,
I have done that and it never went through. Also are you using the device
behind ISA? Do I use the Server to server communication: SMTP, NNTP or
client access: RPC, IMAP, POP3, SMTP when configuring the policy? The
policy is currently up and says SMTP Server as the protocol and is going to
my internal IP for the appliance.

Thanks
Cris

It is just a normal Mail Server Publishing Rule with SMTP. That's
all,...there is nothing special about it. Just be sure that you use the
"SMTP Server" protocol and not the regular
"SMTP" protocol.

I have a SonicWall 300 e-mail appliance between ISA 2004 Ent and my
Exchange
2003 server. I have a connector for outbound messages working great. We
can't get a policy on ISA to get messages routed to the SonicWall
appliance.
We have tried, copying current working SMTP policy, recreated SMTP policy
which points to appliance, changed ports, 2525 etc. That doesn't work on
ISA
2006. Stopped/started services on both ISA and Exchange...
We are at a loss. Thanks for assisting us.

Cris
