1. Give it the normal TCP/IP specs for the External side network that it is
on
2. It is the only nic in the machine that will have a Default Gateway
3. Go into the Nic's service bindings and disable (uncheck):
Client for MS Networks
File and Printer Sharing
QoS Packet Scheduler
In other words,...just get rid of everything except TCP/IP
4. Go to the Properties of Network Places and choose"Advanced" from the Top
Menu,..then Advanced Settings from the next Menu. In the Adapters &
Bindings Tab, in the Upper box make sure the External Nic is *not* at the
top. The one at the top should be the Internal Nic.
It is best to do this before ISA is installed because it is just normal
preparation leading up to the installation of ISA,...but it can be done at
any time.
