Save your self a bunch of trouble and setup your DNS Zone and your DHCP
Server for use with WPAD.
Having IE set to Auto Detect means absolutely nothing with WPAD setup.
Then you need to turn on ISA's auto config advertizement.
All this information is easily found on MS's site by doing a simple search
of "wpad". The articles will tell you everything you need to know from
beginning to end.
At first it may sound like a lot of work,..but it is not,...and saves a ton
of work in the long run,...and solves the original issues you are having as
well.

Thanks for your response, but no luck.
I believe I am configured for "direct access", on the "web browser" tab of
the internal network configuration, boxes are checked for Bypass proxy....
/
Directly access specified domain... / Directly access computers with
specified address. The web server is correctly entered in the direct
access
list, and the domain is correct on the domain tab. IE7 LAN settings are
"automatically detect" but I have also tried "Use a Proxy" and "Bypass
proxy"
with no luck.
Any further suggestions?
Thanks again

HI,
You will need to set Direct Access for these Internal Servers.

I apologize in advance as I'm sure I've overlooked something simple.
I just upgraded from ISA2000 to ISA 2006 and now I find that websites
on my
internal IIS server that are used only by internal clients cannot be
accessed
(error 400) using the syntax http://servername/website. This
functionality is
important to me as we have clients that are blocked to external sites
but
need to access the internal site.
The site can be accessed by using a published URL that has an inbound
allow
rule ie: http://internalweb.mycompany.com/website.
"Servername" in the above example has a www record in a local DNS zone
and
can be properly resolved to the correct IP.
How can I resolve this? Thanks for any help.
